Self-learning pool control: the basis of Wattr

A swimming pool creates an oasis of calm; it is a place of relaxation and enjoyment. But behind the scenes, managing water quality, temperature and filtration requires a thoughtful interplay of technology and efficiency. The ideal pool controller ensures that all devices – from pumps and filters to heating systems and disinfection equipment – are functioning optimally. This not only to ensure crystal clear water and maximum comfort, but also to minimize energy consumption. Wattr puts maximum effort into innovation to ensure smart, self-learning pool controls that contribute to a sustainable, worry-free and perfectly managed pool.

Self-learning pool control based on digital twins

Smart control is always based on a thorough knowledge of the pool. For example, differences in construction, covers, appliances and use have a major influence on heat losses and thus the heating of the pool. Intelligent control can take these factors into account to adjust the control of the heat pump, for example, accordingly.

Wattr’s smart mode creates a digital twin for each pool to be controlled. This digital twin is a computer model that can mimic behavior – e.g., temperature increases/decreases – under different conditions. This digital twin is different for each pool and is created using measurement data, the basis of self-learning pool control.

Wattr uses self-learning digital twins to provide intelligent heating. For example, using weather forecasts, the Wattr algorithm will predict the water temperature in the pool and then optimize when and how hard your heat pump should work. This allows us to guarantee comfort and also minimize energy costs. Wattr also takes into account any output from solar panels so that you can make optimal use of this to reduce energy costs.
